In Case You Haven’t Notice…

24 07 2008

Gas prices have been going down within the past month! And, it has not only been going down by 5 or 10 cents, but at least 30 cents! The 76 gas station on Rosemead and Duarte (the one that I used to say was cheap and then not cheap) is $4.34 now! Here’s some statistics from Gas Buddy about that specific 76:

Today: $4.367
Yesterday: $4.38
One Week Ago: $4.47
One Month Ago: $4.60
One Year Ago: $3.05

By the way, that 76 is now back on my list to be known one of the cheaper gas stations. Yay, 76!

One Mean Salesperson

17 07 2008

From Half.com (selling/buying textbooks, etc):

“I would like to return the book because i recieved it at a much later expected arrival date. My class is finished yesterday Jun 15, 2008 and i received the book two before. Thank You for your time and I’m sorry for any inconvenience. Please contact me as soon as possible so I can start the returning process.”

“I am very sorry, but you may not return the book. When you decided to buy the book from my account it meant you agreed with my Media Mail shipping method and that the estimated arrival date would be between 07/09 to 07/21 (as it is stated under “Transaction Details”). Even if you received the book at the earliest estimated date (07/09), you would have only had 6 days to use the book for your class, so you should have caught that before purchasing the book from me.

Sorry, but all sales are final. I suggest you try selling the book yourself.

Thank you.”

Daaaaaaaaaaang. Talk about snobby, huh? Funny thing is, the second e-mail is from me, not the first one. Hahahah. I realized my emails to the buyers that try to return or get a refund always sound somewhat mean. I don’t intentionally try to sound mean, but there’s really no other way to write it! I try to add in the details to explain why I won’t refund/allow returns, but it just ends up all “you should have known blahblahblah”. Anyway, I just found it funny because when I read it myself, I even said it sounded all “know-it-all” or snobby. I tried to find my other e-mail from another buyer that wanted a refund, but I think I deleted it, so yeah. Sorry. It was another not-so-nice email that would have been entertaining for you to read.

I Should Be Studying…

15 07 2008

BUT, I couldn’t help and realize that I will be finished with summer school in less than two weeks! So, I have a midterm tomorrow, essay due on Thursday, and 8-10 page research paper due on Monday. I SHOULD be studying or writing my papers, right? Right.

Well, I FAIL. I keep thinking about what I’m going to do during my FREE MONTH OF AUGUST before I leave the States. So, I started thinking of a little list of things I want to do before my summer ends. Haha.

-FriendsFam
-Work every Friday I can before I have to quit my job at 21 Choices (I’m actually very sad about this)! : (
-Getty Villa (I didn’t get a chance to go during Spring Break)
-San Fran/Berkeley (or some short sort of road-trip with a few church girls)
-CSU Fullerton (to check out the campus/take pictures)
-UCR Museum of Photography (so apparently it’s the biggest photography gallery in the West? I might be wrong)
-Explore and take more pictures!
-Running & going to the gym everyday (well, weekday, maybe not so much weekends)
-BOWLING!

Kk. That is all. Back to studying and reading.

Chasing Pavements – Adele

This music video is so creative! I love Adele’s voice. Her songs are amazing. : )

I’m An Adult Now!

8 07 2008

For the first time I filed my federal income tax (separately from my parents, too) and received a federal refund check in the amount of $16 (Yeah, it’s not much considering my gross income only being $1,485).

I also went to the DMV in Pasadena today and waited in line all by myself so I could change my license and correct the last name from WONG to WANG. I was able to retake and change my hideous freshman year permit picture and chicken-scratch signature, too! I even registered to vote today (even though I won’t be in the country for the 2008 Elections in November).

And, I finally got my dirty little Kia Sportage washed at Lucky Car Wash on the corner of Rosemead and Colorado while I was at the DMV.

The point is… I did many adult-like things (to me, at least). I really felt like an adult for the first time today!

SWEEEEEEET.
That is all. Good day.
